Training Requests

All REO Preservation has an established fee-based [hands on] training program.

We offer field training in Southern California and Fort Mohave, Arizona.  We train you on an actual trashout in order to give you the full benefit of field experience.   Training is informal and questions are answered throughout the entire process.

We offer online training but there is certain criteria you must be able to meet.  Online training for startups can only be done AFTER the field training is completed.  These are a few of the topics we cover in training:

  • Guidelines ~ overview and explanation of procedures
  • HUD & FHA Cost Allowances ~ the maximums and how to work within them
  • Household Hazardous Waste ~ what it is, when to remove it, how to handle it, and where to dispose of it
  • Personal Property Eviction & Removal ~ steps to properly identify, evict, store, and/or remove personal property
  • Photo Guidelines ~ before & after photos ~ what the clients require
  • Utilities ~ how to work without them
  • Janitorial ~ the differences between "broom sweep", “regular”, and "sales or show clean"
  • Landfills ~ what you can and cannot take to the landfills
  • Lock Changes ~ how to drill or otherwise gain entry to a house without causing damage, which locks to change, which locks to disable
  • Winterizing ~ proper steps to winterizing a property, when the season starts & ends, what elevations require winterization, and who requires them year round
  • Pool Draining ~ when you can & when you can’t, how to drain, where to drain, and who to see about getting a permit
  • Grass Cuts ~ when to do them, when to bid them, and what to do with debris in the way of the cut when there's no order for removing debris
  • The Bidding Process ~ how to arrive at a fair estimate for the work to be done
  • Accounting & Invoicing ~ the best software and how to set it up to organize & track properties and get a profit and loss statement by property, by client, and for your business overall
  • What to expect at the end of a long day in the field
  • Client & asset management interface
  • Insurance requirements & job safety

Those are just a few of the key items we'll be training you in. There are other things and there will be links you can access to locate software that will help you streamline your operation so that the paperwork doesn't turn into a nightmare and take up time you could be spending in the field.

Field training is for 2 days at an actual trashout so that procedures can be explained while the work is being performed. The photo guidelines start during field training.  You'll need a digital camera with date stamp capabilities.  If you don't already have one, Hewlett-Packard is the best I've found so far and is very affordable.

NOTE:  Not every state will have the same cost allowances for property preservation work.  Laws are different in each state, too, regarding personal property.

All REO Preservation is not a job placement agency and DOES NOT:

  • Offer training via e-mail or phone
  • Give anyone our client list or contact info for the banks [Please do not ask]
  • Does NOT give out our price list to other vendors
  • Guarantee you'll be working with us after the training
  • Guarantee that you'll have work available in your state
  • Guarantee your business will be a success ~ that's up to you

Due to the high volume of requests, please send an e-mail to ppv.training@gmail.com, rather than call.  In some cases, we may not be able to respond to e-mails the minute, or even the day I receive them, due to our current work load.  Please be patient.

This is what we need:

  • Your STATE in the subject line and the words "training request"
  • Contact Information, such as name, current business name, phone, alternate phone
  • Lastly, the county you are located in & a brief summary of your background, whether preservation-related or not.

Policy regarding fees:  All fees are payable in advance by cashiers check ONLY.  But, PLEASE don't send them until we're ready for you.  Fees are non-refundable but can be applied to future classes.

NOTE:  OUR PHONE LINE IS RESERVED FOR CLIENTS ONLY.  NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM PROPERTY PRESERVATION VENDORS, EXPERIENCED OR OTHERWISE, OR ANYONE REQUESTING TRAINING INFORMATION.

All REO Preservation Services expects all of its vendors & potential vendors & trainees to be professional at all times and, if a simple request such as NO PHONE CALLS cannot be followed with regards to contacting us, we will assume you cannot follow other guidelines regarding the work and you will not even be considered.

It's not our intention to be rude but we are experiencing a high volume of requests from new vendors & trainees, in addition to our normal everyday work load and field services.  There may be 50 to 100 new vendor requests ahead of you at any point in time so send an e-mail and  be patient until we are able to contact you.

Thank you!
